Cycling holidays at Camping les Arches****
From June 2026, the Via Ardèche will undergo a major extension.
Starting this summer, you will be able to reach the Ardèche Gorges in complete tranquillity, as well as many of the region's iconic tourist sites.
The Ardèche has numerous cycle paths, often built on former railway lines, offering picturesque and accessible routes.
The Via Ardèche, which you may have already used, now reaches the campsite. The railway line that crosses the famous Arches at the entrance to the campsite will now be used by bicycles, and the Via Ardèche will be accessible from the campsite!
We are currently in the process of obtaining the Accueil Vélo label, a guarantee of quality and services dedicated to cyclists.
With this in mind, we are planning to complete our facilities and amenities such as to install a secure shelter for your bicycles, providing a suitable and protected storage space.
In addition, everything you need to carry out minor repairs and maintenance on your bikes will be available upon request at the reception.
These initiatives are aimed at ensuring your comfort and allowing you to enjoy your stay in complete peace of mind.
ARDÈCHE BY BIKE
The Ardèche is full of extraordinary landscapes, and we are lucky enough to be able to take the time to explore them by bike !
Closest to us is the Via Ardèche, which passes through a number of emblematic Ardèche landscapes (such as Vals-les-Bains, Vogüé, Balazuc, the Cirque de Gens in Chauzon, Ruoms and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc) and which will pass through the campsite in 2026 !
Even closer to the campsite, there are plenty of cycling routes in the area, such as the Echappée Volcanique. This is a loop that takes in the villages along the Coiron volcanic massif, the plateau visible from the campsite, including : Saint Jean le Centenier, Mirabel, Darbres, the characterful village of Saint-Laurent-sous-Coiron and Lussas.
In 2026, the Via Ardèche will be linked to the Via Rhôna, along the Rhône, which will allow us to reach the Mediterranean sea or the Léman lake on a safe and largely shaded cycle path so that we can enjoy a ride to the rhythm of the river.
From the Via Rhôna, you can join the voie douce de La Payre, a former railway line passing through Privas, a town famous for its marrons glacés ! You can also join the Dolce Via, which crosses the heart of the departement and provides access to the Train de l'Ardèche, in the Vallée de l'Eyrieux.
In the north of the Ardèche, you will also find the Via Fluvia, a route between the Loire and the Rhône, passing through Annonay.

Camping Les Arches**** has designed an interactive map to help you discover all the points of interest in the area around the campsite.
Tourism and ecology often seem difficult to reconcile.
